Reiki/ChiGong For Horses and People
What I hear most of the time is “I don’t know what he does, but it works!”
To help clarify my work I will describe the three modalities that I use for horses and people.
I have been a certified Reiki Master for ten years and have used Reiki on a daily basis for 14 years. My Reiki Master Instructor is Santina Blumenfeld from Incline Village, Nevada. I am blessed to be under her very traditional tutelage and exceptional guidance. Over the years, I have tested the use of Reiki and its benefits to many limits on people and horses.
I have never been disappointed.
Reiki simply defined means, “the Flow of Universal Life Force”. At the turn of the century, Dr. Mikao Usui rediscovered the cosmic keys for healing. The Japanese Kanji characters for Reiki describe the living force and its source. These characters speak to us as a symbol of a way of living in correct alignment with life. The two characters which combine to form the word Reiki are translated as Rei which means “Universal Consciousness and Ki which means “Vital Life Force Energy.”It is this Universal Consciousness of Rei that moves the life force of Ki in the process we call Reiki. There is no need to believe in its existence for it to work. Whether it is relieving stress or helping with an energy boost, Reiki gives you what you need. It is gentle, harmless, natural, balancing and healing. For people or animals, Reiki energy heals what is needed even if you don’t consciously know where or what the problem or pain may be.
I have studied Chinese ChiGong for over 25 years. My instructors include Master Yu Shi from the North of China, and Hanshi Bruce Juchnik, Grandmaster Instructor of Kosho Shorei Ryu Kempo, and also Stephen Barr, Acupuncturist, energetic pioneer, and friend.
Chi means “breath and air” and it applies to “energy and vitality”. Gong or gung means work. It relates to any technique or skill that requires time and effort, patience and practice to perfect. Hence the term ChiGong can be translated as “breathing exercise” or “energy work”.
Chi is the fundamental “stuff” of the entire universe, the basic building block of all matter, the immaterial energy that constitutes all material form. Modern quantum physics has recently verified a fact that has long since been apparent to ancient Taoist science: that the essential nature of even the most elemental atoms and molecules is nothing more or less than an array of energies organized in a particular pattern. Chi is therefore the basic energy that comprises all matter and animates all living things, and the fundamental functional force that drives all activities and transformations in nature and the universe. ChiGong provides an effective way to mediate and manipulate the vital energies of life, and to balance and harmonize them for optimum health and longevity, emotional equilibrium and spiritual awareness.
This paragraph is from The Complete Guide to Chi-Gung by Daniel Reid. Pg. 6 and 7
My ChiGong training has taught me to feel the various textures of energy including hot or cold energy. In the case of an injury this would be called ill-chi or negative energy. This can be pulled away and cleared from the body using ChiGong techniques, and once cleared a healing energy of Chi and Reiki can be layered in. I use this with people and horses and although it may be difficult to imagine, it is extremely effective and can move the healing process forward quite quickly.
ChiGong training takes many years as you must first develop and clear your own body before thinking of extending healing chi to another. With a life time of practice and training, ChiGong healing is vast, dramatically effective and powerful. I have used the combination of ChiGong and Reiki in many different situations with people and horses over the years and it is a beautiful combination that to the observer is similar to “watching grass grow”, but to the recipient of the treatment the positive changes physically and emotionally are dramatic and documented. Sahaj Energy Healing So, aren’t you glad you asked?!!
As a consummate student I have continued my education in the field of Energy Healing. I recently Graduated from the Sahaj School of Energy Healing (2009) where I have completed all of the required Foundation and Advanced Classes in a three year period. In 2009, I assisted the Director of the program, Bear McKay in the Foundation Class Series, and I completed my graduate paper on my extensive work with horses.
The Sahaj School of Energy Healing has truly enhanced my ability to work with energy. The school is a full spectrum training program that covers all the systems of the body, and the energetics that go with each of them, as well as the subtle layers of energy that extend from our bodies and how to help clear and offer healing to all these different levels. I'm very thankful for the opportunity it has provided me and for the caring guidance I've received from Bear McKay, my teacher and the Director of the school. www.sahajhealing.com
